Establishment and Mission

The decades of engagement with the world of palaeontology and archaeology has matured this year the need to create a non-profit entity, which dealt more systematic and organized the promotion of science, knowledge and entertainment offered by the above areas.

With the launch this year by the media, of the very large collection of minerals, crystals and fossils, became clear to us the enormous interest in whoever comes in contact with the above findings. The need for establishing a Cyprus Museum of World Natural History is withing our future plans.

The Cypriot society and the Goverment gave a warm welcome to our proposal for the establishment of the above Museum. A Science centre of such quality that you can hardly find in the Mediterranean if the conditions allow its creation.

Finally we decided to establish The Tsirides Foundation. An institution which will work to promote the idea of ​​creation of the Cyprus Museum of World Natural History but also to organize events, activities, seminars, exhibitions and publications, with the sole purpose of scientific knowledge and promote the value of knowledge on the topics of palaeontology, archaeology and in general the evolution and culture on our planet.

The Tsirides Foundation will seek cooperation with the Ministry of Education and other relevant organizations in Cyprus and abroad, so that the knowledge of prehistory will not remain unknown and obscure. We will offer a variety of activities and opportunities to Children and parents, which will come into contact with the fascinating subject of evolution, while getting entertained and creative.

The main aims and objectives of The Tsirides Foundation as listed in the Foundation’s Constitution is none other than the organization and implementation of several activities that will directly promote of all scientific and creative way of our motto that is SCIENCE – KNOWLEDGE - ENTERTAINMENT

Within this triangle of Science Knowledge and Entertainment, we will work and cooperate with anyone that respects and embraces the need for innovative actions in Cyprus in the field of prehistory, evolution and culture.
