Fossil fish of the species Lepisosteus GAR Fish.

Age: 55-40 million years old.

Found in Green River Formation, Wyoming, USA

50 million years ago, three lakes covered parts of Wyoming, Utah and Colorado. The sediments deposited by these lakes became the rock comprising the Green River Formation. In these sediments some remarkable fossils have been found like this fish which is in excellent condition and even its cuticles are very nicely preserved.
